    All About Biking

Many bikers have found that bicycling is not just a fun sport that can be enjoyed for years, but also a very good low-impact exercise. Biking can be a very effective alternative to running without the high impact and strain on a person's knees.

Plus, what could be more pleasurable than combining exercise with visiting the beautiful countryside at the same time?

    Benefits of Biking

    • Tones muscles
    • Helps weight loss
    • Provides fresh air
    • Builds better lung capacity
    • Reduces high blood pressure
    • Reduces high cholesterol
    • Reduces the risk of adult-onset diabetes

    Biking for Pleasure

You can participate in biking at any level of fitness because you bike at your own pace. The more biking you do, the more your stamina increases and the more fit you become. The more you ride, the longer you can go.

Hints for the beginner: Warm up. Don’t push yourself: start with short rides and slowly build up your distance. Cool down. And don't forget to have fun!

    Family Biking

Everyone in the family can learn to ride bikes. Have the whole family ride together, whether it's just around the block or to a local park. You can even bike to school together! Biking will help you become a fit, healthy, happy family.

    Competitive Biking

Are you an experienced biker training for a race or marathon? Improve your performance with more intensive workouts once or twice a week. Sprint and rest in intervals less than a minute for increased lung capacity and faster racing. Perfect your technique by pedaling the full circle. Concentrating on your movements when your feet are at the top and bottom of the swing will increase efficiency and stamina.

Be sure to check out the Events page for races and bike rides coming up soon!
